Prevocational Services

Helping Initiatives for Hands-On Employment

This is a supportive work training program for clients in the rehabilitation phase of their recovery.  Contract work is performed with supervision and assistance.  Clients share proceeds from the work they perform.  The primary work activity is building and yard maintenance and flyer delivery.  Services are delivered by Thunder Creek Rehabilitation Association.

Supportive Program for Employment in the Community

This is a transitional employment program intended to provide pre-employment training and continuous supervision when on a work location.

Access

Services are introduced to rehabilitation clients through their Community Mental Health Nurse.

Applications for Helping Initiatives for Hands-On Employment are completed and reviewed by an admission committee for Thunder Creek Rehabilitation Association.  Placement is dependent on availability of space.

Discharge/Transfer or Completion

Community Mental Health Nurses, in cooperation with clients, caregivers, and other treating professionals determine appropriate vocational and training placements.
