AFTER BABY Children are checked for normal development and overall health at all immunization appointments as well as at special clinics for all new babies until their 8 week immunization. Moms are checked for overall wellness and are offered support with breastfeeding by specially certified nurses. |

Nurses offer support after every new birth and visit new moms and babes in the home after the birth, checking the baby and the mom, and ensuring everyone is managing in their new environment.
Maternity Visiting Program
The Maternity Visiting Program (MVP) provides supportive nursing services to mothers who go home sooner after the birth of their baby.
A Public Health Nurse (PHN) will visit you within 24-48 hours after you are discharged from the hospital. The PHN will check mother and baby, as well as provide information & counseling about breastfeeding, nutrition, rest, exercise, and baby care.

Baby Check
Baby check services are available for infants 1-8 weeks of age at the Moose Jaw Public Health office on Thursdays from 1:00-3:00 p.m. No appointment necessary, drop in only.
