AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER (ASD) PROGRAM
The ASD program supports children and youth, who may be diagnosed or are displaying symptoms of Autism spectrum disorder. Services and supports are individualized to meet the unique and specific biological, emotional, developmental and social needs of the individual.
Children 0-5 years will have a clinical assessment. Families will complete an ASD screen to determine whether characteristics of ASD are displayed. Early intervention is important for reducing impairment and improving function.
Early intervention services include: occupational therapy, speech language pathology, social work and service from an Autism support worker. Children older than five may be provided mental health counselling from a licensed social worker.
