Adult Counseling and Assessment Services
The adult clinical service team provides assessment and a range of mental health and addictions treatment interventions to clients whose ability to function day to day is significantly impacted by their level of mental health and/or addictions issues. Requests for service may include depression, substance abuse, anxiety, eating disorders, family difficulties, abuse, and grief. Treatment options may include individual, family or group service.
Satellite clinics are provided in Assiniboia and Central Butte.
Adult programs include:

Alternatives to Violence - This program is offered to all men who are physically, emotionally or psychologically abusive in their intimate relationships. It is a twelve-week group program that focuses on taking responsibility for their behaviour and learning how they can change the beliefs that contribute to their violent behaviour. This program is offered in partnership with the Department of Justice.

Group Services - consist of anxiety and panic, general issues women's group, depression and family of origin. Groups are also provided for women who are living, or have been living, in abusive relationships and for women who are survivors of sexual abuse. Other groups are offered according to service demand.

Trauma Response Program - consist of a group of community members representing various agencies whose goals are to provide a coordinated response should a traumatic event contacts the call centre at 694-2111, who then contacts the team coordinator who arranges appropriate interventions with other members of the team.
Community Mental Health Nursing
Community Mental Health Nurses work with clients in the community and coordinate the range of services required by the clients in order to maximize clients' level of functioning. A case management approach offers coordination of clinical and administration functions including assessment, counseling, planning, linkage, advocacy and monitoring. This includes a recovery focus involving training in basic living skills and crisis intervention and vigorous outreach in order to assist clients achieving their potential for an increased level of functioning in the least restrictive manner.
Other services include, but are not restricted to: medical and inpatient treatment, medication management, residential placements and monitoring, social and recreational programs, prevocational, vocational and educational programs, family supports and connections with a community agencies and services. The primary function of services is to collaborate with a community based comprehensive range of recovery and support services to people who experience severe and persistent mental illness by an interdisciplinary team.

- Depot Clinic - Depot medication is provided to clients as prescrided by psychiatrist.
- Early Psychosis Intervention Program support.
- Cognitive Disablities Strategy support.
- Reintegration of long term detention clients from Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford.
- Shared Management - a Community Mental Health Nurse provides clinical consultation to long term care facilities. Services include assessment, review of client progress, introduction and review of behaviour management techniques, contacts with pertinent caregivers and documentation for attending psychiatrist. Services are offered on site at Pioneer Lodge, Capilano Court, Extendicare and Chez Nous.

Day Program
This program provides care to patients during their transition from hospital to community care and sometimes is offered as an alternative to inpatient care. A variety of group and individual interventions are provided. This program provides family education and support to the Early Psychosis Initiative.
Inpatient Services
A 14 bed acute psychiatric unit with two observation beds designated pursuant to the Mental Health Services Act. Admission to the adult inpatient unit is arranged by a psychiatrist with admitting privileges. |
